We request that everyone bring a canned food donation for the Food Bank for Monterey County, and delight in festive decorations, great food provided by Carmel Plaza restaurants, live music by Steve Ezzo & Neal Banks, a chance to win a $500 Carmel Plaza Gift Card and more! New for this year will be the opportunity for local residents to receive a FREE holiday gift in exchange for casting their ballots for their favorite holiday window display. Up From the Ashes: Birth of the Hotel Del Monte Art Gallery with John Sanders

Presented by the Friends of the Museum, John Sanders, special collections manager at the Naval Postgraduate School's Dudley Knox Library, will offer a stunning look at the Hotel Del Monte Art Gallery-the historic commercial gallery where the works of the Monterey Peninsula Art Colony, including Gottardo Piazzoni, Xavier Martinez and Evelyn McCormick, was first disseminated. Sanders is currently developing an archive that includes Hotel Del Monte and Naval Postgraduate School artifacts and documents. The Friends of the Museum is an auxiliary organization of the Monterey Museum of Art, whose mission is to foster an appreciation for the visual arts through volunteer service, fundraising and programs. Membership in the Friends is open to all Monterey Museum of Art members

Annual Valley of the World Wine & Food Festival

Join this event put on by the Wine & Food Festival where more than 70 wineries, chefs and restaurants will dazzle attendees with mouth-watering delicacies and wines. Winners will be drawn for the $10,000 Grand Prize Reverse Draw, and Silent Auction items will be on display throughout the evening, including jewelry, vacation getaways, golf packages and much more. All proceeds will benefit a range of Monterey County charities. Tickets can be purchased through the website and are $75 per person or $140 per couple.
